India-Pakistan War Escalates: Drone Attacks Foiled, Blackout Imposed in Chandigarh, Mohali, and Border States
India-Pakistan War: Drone Attacks Foiled, Blackouts in Multiple Cities Amid Escalating Tensions

The escalating conflict between India and Pakistan has entered a dangerous new phase as both nations brace for further military confrontation. Operation Sindoor, launched in response to failed Pakistani incursions, marks the beginning of a serious escalation along the border.
On Thursday night, Pakistani forces attempted coordinated drone and missile strikes targeting Indian locations in Gujarat and Rajasthan.
However, the Indian defense systems swiftly intercepted the threats, neutralizing all incoming aerial threats. The Indian Air Force reported no damage or casualties, crediting their advanced radar systems and anti-drone units for the quick response.
Following the failed attacks, India launched strong retaliatory strikes on key Pakistani locations, including Lahore, Sialkot, and even areas near Islamabad.
The Indian government has called this a “measured and strategic response” to ongoing provocations. In light of the war-like situation, emergency measures have been implemented across multiple Indian cities.
Chandigarh, Mohali, and several districts in Gujarat and Rajasthan are currently under blackout orders to reduce visibility for potential aerial attacks. Sirens were sounded in Chandigarh late in the evening, urging citizens to turn off lights and stay indoors.
The Chandigarh District Collector issued a public advisory stating, “Considering the current emergency, all residents are requested to respond immediately to sirens by turning off all lights. People are advised to avoid rooftops and open areas for their safety.”
Shops have been closed, and movement restrictions are in place across several affected zones. Citizens have been urged to remain calm and comply with official directives.
The central government, in coordination with defense agencies, is closely monitoring the situation. Senior officials have assured the public that India is fully prepared for any eventuality and that national security remains the top priority.
As diplomatic options dwindle, global leaders are calling for restraint and urging both nations to de-escalate before the situation spirals further.
