Google has introduced a powerful update to Gemini for Pro, Ultra, and select Workspace users the Scheduled Actions feature. This lets users automate tasks like email summaries, blog ideas, and weather-based suggestions using simple time or event-based triggers.
With Scheduled Actions, users can automate tasks such as daily email summaries, weekly blog topic suggestions, or weather-based outfit ideas. Simply set a prompt and schedule, and Gemini will take care of the rest automatically.
Gemini can act based on specific times, dates, or events for instance, summarizing emails every morning or generating event-based updates like award show highlights the following day.
Users can have up to 10 scheduled actions at a time, managed under the "Scheduled actions" tab in Gemini settings. Tasks can be paused, edited, or deleted as needed. For location-specific tasks, Gemini remembers the original location to ensure accurate results.
Gemini sends mobile push notifications for scheduled tasks, keeping users informed without needing to open the app offering a hands-free, intelligent assistant experience.
As AI platforms compete, Gemini is pushing beyond chatbot capabilities to become a proactive digital assistant. With automation features like Scheduled Actions, it aims to match or surpass rivals like ChatGPT in delivering intelligent, real-time support.
